Shelter From the Storm

Fifty one per cent of women in Canada have experienced at least one incident of physical or sexual violence since the age of 16. The Canadian Women's Foundation (CWF) with the help of local businesses is working to change these numbers.

The Orangeville Winners store -- along with Winners and HomeSense stores across the country -- are participating in the Shelter From the Storm Campaign, a campaign generating awareness about violence against women, and raising funds to help its victims. The money will be dispersed through the foundation to aid more than 450 shelters across Canada and support local violence prevention programs.

Until May 11, stores will be collecting donations as well as selling decals, t-shirts and teddybears. For more information about this campaign, go to www.shelterfromthestorm.ca.
