Grannies host PJ party in the park

In celebration of Grandparents Day, Grandma’s N Pajamas in the Park is the feature at Market on Broadway tomorrow (Sept. 6). All proceeds from the Grandma’s N Pajamas event will go towards the purchase of pajamas for Dufferin County families.
Wayne Townsend from Dufferin County Museum will appraise antiques from 9 a.m. to noon. The tea party in the gazebo in Alexandra Park is free and features a silent auction fundraiser table. Winston Uytenbogaart, the Up Country Carver, will be carving and displaying his works.
The University Women’s Club will have an information booth about their club and details about the Orangeville Go Grannies group that supports the Grandmothers Campaign of the Stephen Lewis Foundation.
The Orangeville Public Library is offering story hour for children in the park from 9-10 a.m. The Taoist Tai Chi Society for Orangeville will be providing information at their booth and group members will be doing a demo behind town hall.
Fall produce, preserves, sunflowers and mums are arriving at market. Shop early for best selection of freshly baked goods, meats, fruits and vegetables.
Fresh vegetables may be stored in “vegetable” storage containers that are available at From the Kitchen to the Table on Broadway or from Marilyn Lawrence, who sells Tupperware at the market.
Market on Broadway, downtown Orangeville’s farmers’ market, is open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday until Thanksgiving and is located downtown around town hall at Broadway and Second Street.
