Two people were charged with impaired driving last Friday, when Orangeville police kicked off their annual holiday RIDE campaign.
A third person — a 17-year-old Orangeville youth — was also charged with impaired driving on the weekend, but not at a RIDE spot check.
During the first of many holiday RIDE initiatives, officers stopped more than 200 vehicles. As a result, police charged a 46-year-old Orangeville man and a 19-year-old Palgrave man. A 23-year-old Orangeville man was also charged with being in contravention of his G2 driver’s licence and driving without insurance.
Later that night, at about 3:30 a.m., a vehicle crashed into the rear yard fence of a Meadow Drive residence that backs onto Blind Line. A 17-year-old boy is alleged to have been behind the wheel and was arrested for impaired driving.
