The founder of local business Ignite Your Essence, Justin Popovic, has set a $25,000 goal for Orangeville.

Through a two-pronged fundraising plan, Popovic hopes to raise the large sum and donate it to Sick Kids Hospital.

"It's always been my wife's and my favourite charity," he said about choosing the cause. "We have a soft spot for kids who need help and I used the hospital when I was a child a couple of times. I fell down and smashed my jaw and I also have scoliosis of the spine, so they monitored that for 18 years."

Popovic plans to fundraise two ways: first he is asking adults for cash or credit donations and second he is going to tour the local schools and ask students to fundraise. The five kids who raise the most will be showcased on Popovic's business website and win prizes that have been donated from local businesses. Popovic has received over $700 worth in prizes, including the much-coveted Guitar Hero 3.

Raising $25,000 may seem daunting to some, but Popovic's business, Ignite Your Essence, is a personal motivation company and he sees setting big goals for himself as just a part of his business.

"I absolutely believe that we will reach our goal," he said. "And if we don't, then I know we will have raised more money then if we had not set our goal at all."

In just under a week, Popovic has already raised $1,200.
