WMF golf tourney Sept. 13
Friday September 5 2008

On Saturday, Sept. 13 the Scramble Fore Waldenstrom’s golf tournament will be held at Settler’s Ghost Golf Club in Barrie. This event is being held to support the Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia Foundation of Canada.
In February 2003, long-time Orangeville resident Brenda Robinson was diagnosed with Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia. Robinson, being a courageous fighter, battled this rare cancer head-on. She went through many different drugs and chemotherapy treatments but with very little resources and many unknowns, her fight was all that more difficult. Sadly, on July 17 2008, Robinson lost her courageous struggle but her memory and a fight for a cure continues on.
Her son Brett has organized two baseball tournaments and one very successful golf tournament to create awareness of WMF and support his mom. In total, approximately $13,000 has already been raised in support of WMF Canada. You can support WMF Canada by participating in this tournament or by donations and sponsorship. Help us support those who are affected by this very rare cancer.
The golf tournament is a four-person scramble (best ball) format, and includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, dinner, awards and prizes.
